Happy Fathers Day

When I think of the word ‘Father’, phrases such as; a strong protector, a wise advisor and a provider come to mind. Those people who were and are blessed to have the kind of relationship that I have with my 3 fathers (don’t ask, LOL) will also add; comforter, spiritual guide and friend to the list above. This Father’s Day I would like to celebrate my 3 Fathers as well as to help my son celebrate and honor his dad, my husband. As is typical of the older sister to do, I delegated this task to my 3 beautiful little sisters and here is what they had to say about the father in their life (from the youngest to the eldest).

You’re the best! You are loving, caring, kind, amazing and irreplaceable. You are the best dad in the world! Love you dad.

From Tina

There are lots of things to say about my dad. Good things! Like making me laugh even if I’m in a bad mood. But really, I make him funny, I think it’s just me My father is always there for me no matter what the problem is. If I’m having trouble with school or problems with my friends, he is always there. He puts down whatever he is doing to try to listen to whatever my problem is no matter how silly it may seem. At the end of the day, I know I can always go to him for anything! And that’s why I love my dad so much!

From the daughter who brings out the funny in you

Iris (Eirs)

My Father

My first love, my daddy. He is my role model. He never searches for applauds and He’s never one to gloat. He goes on discreetly living up to expectations of those he adores the most. He seldom requests or speaks of his desires and his needs are not many. He has been a dependable and firm establishment through every one of our tempests of life.  He is a strong hand to hold to in times of anxiety and strife. A genuine companion we can swing to when times are great or awful. One of our most prominent blessings from God, the man that I call Dad. You may have thought I didn’t see or that I hadn’t listened to the life lessons that you taught to me but I got each word and I continue to hold your wise counsel in high esteem. Your unconditional love lifts me up every time I fall. You have been my rock and you continually strive to ensure that I have what I need and want. I don’t know where I would be without you. It’s composed on my heart. Without you, Dad, I wouldn’t be the individual I am today; what you have instilled in me, no one can take away. I’ve grown up with your values and I’m exceptionally glad I did. So here’s to you, dear father,

From your eternity appreciative and beautiful daughter.

You are the greatest gift that God has ever given me (so is mom, you guys are kinda equal in my heart, LOL). You are a walking, living, breathing definition of a Father’s Love and you have shown me that love truly is a verb, in many ways. For example, by changing my stinky diapers without even being phased a bit. I know most dads don’t go anywhere near that stuff. You are my teacher and you model the way that things ought to be done. You don’t just tell me, you show me and you know what they say,

“Monkey see, monkey do!”

This monkey is learning a lot. I wouldn’t trade you for the world. I love you dad

V. A. K

(I interpreted the gibberish baby-talk so that all of you could understand)

Now that I’ve celebrated the men in my life, it’s your turn to go out there and show your dads how much you appreciate them. Make them their favorite meal, treat them to a foot rub, watch a football match with them even though you loathe football, give them a call, send a message, do something to spread the love! To all the fathers and Special Super-Hero Single Mothers out there…

With love

P.S We have enjoyed the Father’s Day series, hope you did too;)
